#2 Camino Primitivo
I am not planning to blog every day. However, I wanted to quickly update on yesterday, because having discovered that our rucksack had been found and was out for delivery in the morning, it didn’t actually arrive at the hotel until 10:30pm that night…ultimately 55.5hrs later than us.
Oh the elation! I actually hugged the hotel receptionist when he gave it to us!
Once in our room, we immediately started unpacking, and felt so grateful to be reunited with items that now felt like long lost friends. We were then a hive of bustling activity, washing clothes, and getting ready for our early departure today.
An added bonus was that I have just woken up to the news that my Cancer Research fundraiser (new) target has been taken over the line by my good friend Rita Porfiris!
Rita and I were in a string quartet together in New York in 1990, and just 5 days ago I had the joy of playing Errollyn Wallen’s new string trio with her and her wonderful husband Anton at Errollyn’s new house in Orkney! She is such a marvellous human being and dear friend.
It feels good to be finally starting the Camino today. Although we were in limbo yesterday, ready to spring into action and leave when the bag arrived, we also realised it was a gift to have a day of catching up and taking stock.
Oviedo was the perfect host.
Every step is a step closer…
